Msida Creek: a new flyover and a regenerated waterfront
The Msida Creek Project is one of Malta’s most significant infrastructure works in recent years: it aims to ease traffic at a key junction between Msida, Ta’ Xbiex and Valletta while regenerating the whole waterfront area.
The flyover
At the heart of the project is a 200-metre two-way flyover directly linking Triq il-Marina with Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli, bypassing the current traffic-light junction. According to Infrastructure Malta, more than 4,500 vehicles an hour pass through here: shorter queues also mean less noise and pollution.
Not just roads
Around 60% of the project is devoted to public space: pedestrian areas, greenery and a more pleasant waterfront for residents and visitors.
Why it matters to buyers
Msida is home to the University of Malta and has structural rental demand. Better infrastructure and regenerated public spaces tend to make an area more attractive over time, including for tenants. Find out more in our guide to the areas of Malta.
