The figures
- Overall index (RPPI): 105.94
- Apartments: +7.4% year on year (index 106.31) — the strongest growth of all property types
- Maisonettes: +4.3% year on year (index 103.81)
The index is compiled by the National Statistics Office (NSO) from tax authority data and covers around 1,400 residential transactions each quarter, weighted by the value of apartment, terraced house and house sales.
What it means for investors
Apartments — the type most in demand among buy-to-let investors — are appreciating the most. This is consistent with strong rental demand driven by tourism and foreign workers on the island.
Past performance does not guarantee future results: what matters most when assessing a property is the area and its rental demand. Read our guide to the areas or browse available properties.
